High decibels are to be expected at TaiSPO this year, as fitness equipment makers are fueling the trend for high-energy group fitness classes. After the launch of the Escalate and accompanying programs last year, Intenza will pump up the volume for live demos on its new 550GC. The indoor bike is part of a new generation of cardio gear by Intenza, which is fully updating its branding this year. Matrix Fitness has planned small group training sessions involving the new S-Force Performance Trainer in combination with three other pieces of equipment. The Cycle RX Series from Horizon, another brand of the Johnson Health Tech group, will be highlighted in a cycling show.

Top sportswear and electronics make for ultra-smart clothing

Ultra-smart and comfortable clothing from Kinpo Electronics and Makalot

Wearable technology and smart clothing are taking center stage at TaiSPO this year, combining expertise in electronics and technical fabrics. Among the Taiwanese entrants, Kinpo Electronics has built up plenty of insights into electronics and medical technology. It has teamed up with Makalot Industrial, a key supplier of functional textile for leading sportswear brands, which knows all about moisture management, body temperature regulation and strategic muscle support. The combination makes for ultra-smart as well as comfortable clothing. The two companies are among the exhibitors at TaiSPO’s new Smart Sports Pavilion, along with companies such as Maxtek Go-Go, Everest Textile and Singular Wings Medical.

Conti is on the ball for volleyball training

Paul Yang with Conti’s innovation in volleyball

Volleyball has become a popular sport in many Asian countries, and Continental Chemical Industries aims to make it even more enjoyable with its latest rubber ball. This year’s innovation from the Conti brand uses a new construction with cloth wrap instead of nylon wound, to make a volleyball that is particularly soft and suitable for training. The company produces balls for plenty of other team sports, supplying training and competition balls for many of the leading international brands.
