Business opportunity in the New Year: technology and high-end machineries

Taiwan’s economic growth of 2017 is projected to grow 2.58% more than the same period last year, according to the statistics from MOE. The flourishing manufacturing industry at a global scale has affected the supply chain from related industries in Taiwan. The manufacturing output value has reached a new peak in Q3 2017 by a value of 3.3226 trillion TWD since two years. The obvious demand comes from machineries, automation equipment, and automobile components. These production has contributed to the rising amount of machine tools output, it has increased 15.3% compared to the same period last year – a heartwarming news for the industry itself and the institutions that advocates the policy to promote export of machine tools and components.

The production lines were kept busy by several key international trends. In a report from WTO, it indicated the power of disruptive technology in altering the structure of economy. Technologies have transformed the traditional manufacturing sector, and created new opportunities such as the development of unmanned factory, and AI. Furthermore, from the feedbacks of Taiwan machinery manufacturers, a lot of the companies have removed the stereotype of being the middle tier machine. In short, buyers who were in the past loyal to German or Japanese machineries increasingly choose to use Taiwan’s products – this is a reassurance of the quality. Finally, there are replacements of replacements going on in sophisticated industrialized country, such as Japan, as well as the emerging economy like Thailand. The factories are looking for new machines, or overhaul services to upgrade their production lines. This is also post a crucial opportunity for Taiwan’s machine tool builders. Being the first edition after iMTduo transformed in iMTduo, readers can anticipate the exhibitors in releasing equipment that enhances the overwhelming energy in manufacturing sector that occur in 2017.
