OSCARMAX: Introducing intelligent manufacturing to EDMs

Sales manager Jason Ho speaks about OSCARMAX’s new development in 2018 OSCARMAX plans to exhibit intelligent automatic tool changer at iMTduo 2018. This tool changing system has cooperated with Delta’s PLC technology, as well as HIWIN’s linear guideways and robotics and designed a tool changing system that can manage 80 sets of tools. The intelligent tool changing system works along with 2 CMAX series EDMs, apart from changing tools automatically, it can be operated as a tool warehouse as well. OSCARMAX stated that they have already received two sets of orders from Taiwan’s aviation company who focuses on manufacturing small metal components. Furthermore, the intelligent tool changing system is equipped with 24 hour real time inspection, which would be helpful for increasing production and accuracy, with turbo 3.0 system, and with lower the defect rate. OSCARMAX sees it as an opportunity to help aviation manufacturers in Taiwan to meet the global demands.

“iMTduo is a valuable exhibition to OSCARMAX”, Jason claimed. “At times some of the exhibition overlapped dates, making it difficult for international buyers to travel here. But iMTduo is scheduled nicely that allows buyers to visit the show without giving up another”. The theme on intelligent future of manufacturing not only highlights OSCARMAX’s intelligent tool changer, but also resonates with their business strategy. Jason told us that OSCARMAX does not neglect to upgrade their mid-lower tier and manual-operated machines. They refine the circulation system, loop controller, and software annually in order to fulfill the comprehensive demands from all customers. “In fact, more than 30% of our U.S. customers are the users of this tier of machines”, said Jason. For OSCARMAX, intelligent manufacturing is not only about new invention but also revitalizing existing equipment.
