Taiwan supply chain joins global manufacturers in
building first-class new energy vehicles

Studies showed that electric vehicle global sales grew 18% in 2018, the fastest growing category in the global automotive market. Driven by government policies around the world, its growth rate is expected to increase to 33% in 2019, accounting for 5.2% of global sales.
Electric vehicles will undoubtedly become the mainstream of automotive market in the future. A new supply chain for electric vehicles will be created, driving the development of new electronic component in the market. Taiwan, possessing both outstanding electronics industry and high-quality machinery industry, is the best source for electric vehicle parts.
Taiwan Vehicle Research and Testing Center (ARTC) indicates that Taiwan is already an important part of Tesla's supply chain. Recognized as the global leader for its technical capability, Taiwan’s electric motor, charging equipment, testing equipment, high-voltage battery harness, etc., have entered European and US markets.
Furthermore, ARTC also states that taking the initial development of Tesla for an example, up to 70% of the component suppliers are from Taiwan, highlighting the strength of the industrial cluster in Taiwan in product development. Moreover, Taiwan also has advantages in production, including flexible and efficient processes for low volume-high mix and customized orders, along with quick delivery at low cost.
