Energy Taiwan 2022
Theme Pavilion – Finland
Finland is leading the way to a Zero carbon future by boosting new innovations and long-term business opportunities globally. In addition to the world’s first circular economy roadmap, 14 Finnish industries have introduced their low carbon industry roadmaps. The purpose of the roadmaps is to illustrate the measures that need to be taken to become carbon neutral by 2035, that is Finland’s ambitious target. Finland Trade Center in Taiwan invites three representative Finnish companies to participate in the event, especially to showcase solutions for important energy-related issues. Finland has industry-leading technologies in renewable energy, power generation, energy storage, and renewable fuels, and hopes to become an important partner for Taiwan's industry to promote net zero carbon emissions.

Wartsila Group

Gas power plant
https://www.wartsila.com/energy/solutions/engine-power-plants

Wärtsilä gas power plants use natural gas, the cleanest fossil fuel available, in the most economical way, thanks to their high efficiency at any load and unbeatable flexibility to start and stop exactly according to needs. Besides the combination of efficiency and flexibility, Wärtsilä gas power plants also offer low emissions, and can provide a great amount of power in a reduced site footprint, making it the optimal solution for locations where minimising the environmental impact is a priority. As such, they can be placed close to consumption nodes, optimising the power system. Wärtsilä gas power plants can run on natural gas, liquefied natural gas, liquefied petroleum gas and selected biogases.

Energy Storage System

GridSolv Quantum introduces modular flexibility as a holistic, fully integrated system. Compact and minimalist in design, it ensures the lowest lifecycle costs and the smallest system footprint, plus minimised scope and complexity of EPC activities across locations and market applications. The GEMS software integrates and controls individual resources and entire fleets comprising energy storage, renewables and traditional thermal generation. Using machine learning and historic and real-time data analytics to optimise the asset mix, the software enable customers to remotely monitor, operate, identify and diagnose equipment with unrivaled safety, reliability, and flexibility.
BMH

the TYRANNOSAURU system
https://www.bmh.fi/plant-solutions/waste-refining-solutions/waste-to-fuel/

BMH Technology offers fully integrated, industrial scale solutions for waste refining and handling. The TYRANNOSAURUS® process from BMH turns the MSW(Municipal Solid Waste) and ICW (Industrial and Commercial Waste) into SRF (Solid Recovered Fuel) or RDF (Refuse Derived Fuel). Local, affordable and environmentally friendly SRF/RDF can then be used for replacing coal and other fossil fuels in power boilers and cement kilns. We do it all: design, build, install, service. Delivery of comprehensive turnkey installations worldwide is guaranteed by our experience and know-how. The strength of BMH solutions lies in the robustness, availability and high capacity of our equipment. Our key references include SRF/RDF production plants, which are integrated to efficient boilers and cement kilns with annual waste processing capacity of 100-1000 thousand tons per year.

The Penguin Wave Energy Converter
https://wello.eu/

Inspired by the natural movement of waves, the shape and power take of principle of The Penguin is rotation. Its simple design and operating principle means it's low maintenance while still producing huge amounts of energy. The unique asymmetrical shape of the device is designed to capture the energy in the waves from all sides of the device. As waves crash into its hull, The Penguin rotates in place, gyrating around a central point transferring and capturing the energy from the waves crashing into it. The Penguin is made to survive anything the ocean can throw at it, whilst having zero emissions and being as environmentally neutral as possible the Penguin is designed for sustainability.
