Business France is an official organization tasked with promoting French international trade, enhancing France’s business image globally, and attracting foreign investment. In Taiwan, Business France focuses on facilitating collaboration between Taiwanese and French companies as well as offering consultancy services related to investment in France. They assist foreign investors in decision-making and project support, leveraging a network of regional partners. Additionally, they manage the VIE International Internship Program, which provides temporary assignments abroad for candidates from the European Economic Area.
This year, Business France will lead five French companies in forming the first-ever French Pavilion at Energy Taiwan & Net-Zero Taiwan, aiming to deepen Franco-Taiwanese cooperation through the expo. We welcome you to register and visit them from October 2 to October 4!

AKROCEAN Wind and Metocean Measurement Campaign
AKROCEAN is a French player in marine renewable energies, providing environmental data collected at sea as a service. AKROCEAN owns and operates a fleet of modular, self-powered buoys designed to host a large range of metocean and environmental sensors. Their services include a quick and efficient emergency response to any unpredictable event thanks to early default detection through our onshore 365/7/24. In 2022, Akrocean opened an office in Ho Chin Minh City, Vietnam. A 4-member team operates the sales department and project management for ASIA PASIFIC in collaboration with local partners.
Akrocean deployed a floating LiDAR turnkey service for wind resource assessment and metocean measurements. This solution is Stage 2 validated, according to Carbon Trust road map by DNV. Their floating LiDARs have been deployed in many seas and have accumulated more than 62 years of data reaching the best industry practices.

EDF Renewables Wei Lan Hai Changhua Offshore Wind Project, Wei Lan Hai Miaoli Offshore Wind Project
EDF Renewables is an international energy company which develops, builds, and operates renewable power generation plants. At the end of 2023, EDF Renewables operates a net installed wind and solar capacity of 12.8 GW worldwide (total installed capacity of 21.2 GW). Established in Taipei since 2022, the team is developing a pipeline of fixed bottom and floating wind projects in the Taiwan Strait.
- Wei Lan Hai Changhua (WLHC) is EDF Renewables’ first offshore wind project in Taiwan. Hold by EDF Renewables (80.1%) and Taiya Renewable (19.9%), WLHC (440MW) is located off the coast of Changhua County and has a surface area of approximately 53 square-kilometers, and the sea depth is between 15 and 45 meters with fixed-bottom foundations and is designed to generate 1.6 billion kWh/year, equivalent to a year’s electricity consumption of 460,000 households.
- Wei Lan Hai Miaoli (WLHM) is under development and will be EDF Renewables’ first floating offshore wind farm in Taiwan with an expected total capacity over 1 GW. The project aims to participate to the Floating Offshore Wind Power Demonstration Incentive Program currently planned by the Ministry of Economic Affairs.
