Root in Taiwan.
Flourish full circle.
The IDB Ministry of Economic Affairs is leading 14 circular economy companies to create the IDB Circular Economy Theme Pavilion at the 2020 Taiwan International Water Week. The exhibition will be held at the Taipei World Trade Center hall #1 from September 24th to September 26th.

The theme pavilion will present synergy, co-creation, sharing, and win-win as the four pillar goals of our circular economy system. It invites industries originating in Taiwan to demonstrate that circular economy has already penetrated our daily lives, realizing Taiwan as a green circular technology icon.

The entire exhibition area will be built with over 95% recyclable materials in contemporary designs, to showcase Taiwan's circular economy achievements. The natural, pleasant, and sustainable exhibition environment will resonate the limitless potential of a circular economy.

The theme pavilion will showcase three exhibits: Fashionable Foods (food industry), Sole Revolution (footwear industry), and Full-circle Furniture (furniture industry), to demonstrate the connection between circular supply chain and sustainable circulation solutions at all stages.

Fashionable Foods Exhibit:

  • Hunya Foods presents a “green factory” for the food industry, which implements biological recycling and zero waste.
  • Econo Technology showcases the first "bags grown from soil" in Taiwan.
  • Dot Design introduces sustainable design thinking, breathing new life into waste products.
  • Kismart Biotech and ACE Components present solutions to food waste and organic waste problems, achieving the triple goal of volume reduction, waste reduction, and re-use.

Sole Revolution Exhibit:

  • Domestic brand, Shui-Mu International, connects Taiwan's local recycled footwear manufacturers, Yeechan, Kunhuang, and Changyang, to introduce key concepts including: circular design thinking at initial product design phase, collaborative promotion of recycled footwear, and the creation of evergreen footwear brands. Shui-Mu has collaborated with SJ Group to create zero-waste business opportunities from discarded old shoes; a new circular ecological chain.

Full-circle Furniture Exhibit:

  • Mausu presents recycled furniture from waste wafer boxes.
  • Taijie Precision presents TjG, an imitation wood building material; discusses the use of "Mango Dan" rental business model and recycling mechanism, to allow 100% recycling and reuse of furniture and decoration materials.
  • Strongwise showcases the use of diaper trim and waste clothing to create an environmentally-friendly material termed "clothing fiber wood", used for sustainable boutique furniture.
On September 25th, the Footwear Industry Circular Cooperation Agreement Signing Ceremony will be held on site. Brand owner Shui-Mu International, will lead the industry partners - Yeechain, Kunhuang, Changyang Materials, and SJ Group - to sign a cooperation agreement to connect the industrial supply chain to establish circular consensus and goals. This is an exciting milestone in the development of Taiwan's footwear industry towards a circular economy.

In addition to the three main exhibits, the theme pavilion will provide a series of entertainment, including level games, DIY hands-on experiences, prize draw, brand story-telling, and more. Attendees will learn about circular economy in an entertaining and lively environment. We welcome your visit!
