TIWW Highlights Water Reclamation and Reuse, Smart Water Management and Green Sustainability to Unlock the New Era of Water Industry

Owing to the climate change and rapidly growing civilization, "water scarcity" is now a growing shadow on people's lives and wellbeing. UN report claims that available water resource will dwindle by 40% in the next decade, while the demand for clean water will keep rising, and will be 50% higher by 2040. As the gap between demand and supply widens in both domestic and industrial water use, the government and the water industry worldwide must take action actively to encounter the forthcoming challenges.

According to a McKinsey report, governments around the world will tackle water issues from four dimensions - water resource storage, agricultural water, industrial water, and water devices and equipment - to ensure optimal utilization of water resource and reach water sustainability. The demand in water infrastructure such as water storage and transportation systems and seawater desalination systems, wastewater treatment and reuse, smart water management technologies such as smart water meter, water monitoring, and management platform become substantially higher. Thus, the water-related equipment and technologies are expected to generate abundant business opportunities with over hundreds of billions of NT dollars.
